He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. — Ecclesiastes 3:11
I love this verse especially the phrase “He has also set eternity in the human heart” which means “we have a divine longing for something greater than ourselves. We are wired to seek out purpose and meaning, and this search can lead us to some amazing experiences. This desire may cause us to wrestle with our understanding of God and the timing of His plans for our lives.” (Source: Christianity Path)
I see in man the incredible curiosity about everything including the beginning of our world and the history of mankind. We want to know it all. The key challenge is that it’s the core sin nature within us that refuse to allow God to be a part of that knowing.
Why is that?
Man wants to serve only himself and not God. Man do not want to admit that the sole purpose we were created was for God’s glory — that we are to worship Him in all that we do and create.
As a result, man try to put together science, history, philosophy etc. without including God which make these either incomplete, distorted or perverted.
In other words, confusing.
As if something is missing.
So, man continues to search for that “key” component that will make everything fall together in a perfect coherent puzzle.
The Scripture states that what God reveals in His word would be looked upon as foolish (1 Corinthians 1:18–25) by the unbeliever. And that only to the true believer will He begin to reveal some of the secrets behind the many “mysteries” of the universe (Luke 8:10).
The universe that He created.
I love this verse and I love being His child for I am privy to knowing the Creator of all things, and that is the greatest joy of my existence!
PRAYER
Lord,
I want to know what You’re really like. Not what people say about You, but who You truly are. Reveal Your character to me through Your Word. Show me Your kindness, Your power, Your mercy, and Your holiness. Help me see You clearly so I can love You more deeply. Let everything I learn about You draw me closer.
Amen.
