My eyes look to the sky o’er taken by the darkening clouds
Tears rolling down my face
Why does life have to be so painful? Our bodies so weak?
These bones cry out for relief!
*
Soon I’ll see your face
Soon all my troubles will be gone
For now, I’ll cling to you for you’ll carry me through it all
*
My ears attuned to the rumblings in the sky
As the raindrops fall on my face
Why do they hate me so? Their words cut into me like knives.
I can feel my courage, my will crumbling.
*
Soon I’ll see your face
Soon all my troubles will be gone
For now, I’ll cling to you for you’ll carry me through it all
*
My body’s no match for these winds
Tossing me at will
I’m too weak to stand on my own
But I’ll cling to you for you’ll carry me through
Whatever life here throws at me
I’ll cling to you for your strength gives me what I need
To stand against the storms of this carnal world
*
Soon I’ll see your face
Soon all my troubles will be gone
For now, I’ll cling to you for you’ll carry me through it all
