Whenever I need to talk
To someone
I pray
Whenever I feel utterly
Lost and alone
I pray
Prayer
Is the lifeline
I grasp onto
As I traverse
This world
Prayer
Standing or on my knees
Eyes open or close
Is my conversation
With You
Essential as the very
Air I breathe
Prayer
Oh, Lord
Hear mine today

FMF – Five Minute Friday
“The main feature of Five Minute Friday is our weekly blog link-up. Each week I provide a one-word prompt, and we all set our timers and write for five minutes flat, then post our writing on our respective blogs and link up our offerings on that week’s Five Minute Friday post. Click here to learn more about how the link-up works.” – Kate Motaung

Yes, Ann, our very breath is a prayer to Him. How sweet it is to commune with the Lover of our Soul.

When I really feel alone
I pick up a Thompson gun,
a real loud way I can atone
while I am still having fun.
I figure that the God who went
and whipped the merchants in the temple
will know what I mean and meant,
and giving grace, will find it ample
to hear what’s on a dull thug mind,
that I need to do much better,
and in muzzle-blast will find
more than in illiterate letter
about a man who’s really flawed,
but in his heart, still yearns for God.
