Good health and bright days

They’re brief and temporary

But in you, oh Lord

I have everything

***

Psalms 16:5-11 (GNT)

You, Lord, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands.

How wonderful are your gifts to me; how good they are!

I praise the Lord, because he guides me, and in the night my conscience warns me.

I am always aware of the Lord’s presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me.

And so I am thankful and glad, and I feel completely secure,

because you protect me from the power of death. I have served you faithfully, and you will not abandon me to the world of the dead.

You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.

  1. There was good health in the past,
there were bright days I recall.
    I didn’t know it couldn’t last
until I hit cancer’s hard wall.
    Now each day’s become ordeal;
how can the next one yet be faced?
All I know now is what’s real,
and that, Surprise! I have been graced
    with that I can’t understand,
the thing I can’t explain to you,
the thing that offers an unsee’ble hand
that will hold me up and see me through
the days now coming down, cold as ice
to take me up, yeah, to Paradise.

    1. I always look forward to your commnets – beautiful and real. My life recently took a twist a few weeks ago when I had a heart attack. That woke me up as He could have easily took me home that day. Now, I thank Him for each new day no matter how difficult it might be. God Bless!
