Even In Winter There’s Reason To Smile #FMFParty #Inspirational #ChristianLiving #Beauty #Gratitude

Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

It’s cold. Very cold here in North Dakota. Even though it’s not officially winter yet – it feels and looks like it!

There is a certain beauty in the freshly fallen snow and newly-formed icicles.

Yes, even on a winter-like day, I am grateful.

Matthew 13:16
But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

I am what you’d consider deafblind. However, I do have some sight and some hearing with which I can still enjoy the views and sounds around me. For this, I am grateful. And even if I had no vision or hearing, I can still enjoy the beauty through my senses like smell and touch.

Each day, I wake up and find at least one reason to smile. The majority of the time, I’d find this within nature – which includes seasons and yes, that means snow.

As pure as winters snow
God’s love shines and glows
Melting man’s frozen heart

  1. My wife thinks I hate the snow;
    she couldn’t be more wrong,
for I chose to let it grow
on me, and listened to its song,
the gentle hiss of a light fall,
    tympany of a blizzard,
    the whirly quiet icy call
    that could charm a lizard,
for that is what Barb calls me,
a reptile on a summer rock,
and one day, well, glory be
she is gonna get a shock
when she finds that it’s quite true
that I love snow, oh, yes, I DO!

  2. I love the beauty of each of our four seasons–even the winter. Now, I wish the winter wasn’t quite so cold or so long, but, it is so beautiful I know I would miss it immensely if we moved to a warmer climate.

I’m truly grateful for eyes to see (though they are growing dimmer) and ears to hear (only slightly impaired), but am most grateful for the day when my ears heard the Gospel and my eyes saw my need for the Savior.

Thank you for your beautiful post. Happy Thanksgiving!
