His Love Stirs Me – Cento #Poetry #Inspirational #FMFParty

Rock of Ages
No one takes your life
Yet You died that I might live

I will not forget your love for me
And yet my heart forever is wandering

There are times I feel I walk alone, in shadows of my doubt,
There are times I fear I can’t go on, and strength is running out

Jesus be my guide, hold me to Your side

Rock of Ages
You have paid the price
You were cleft to cover me

There, upon my knees, His strength He freely gives to me,
I stand by His power

Nothing will I fear as long as You are near

You are my firm foundation
The rock on which I stand.

You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak

His love is everlasting, and His mercy never fails,
I’ll follow in the path of the Man with the nail scars in His hands

FMF – Five Minute Friday

The main feature of Five Minute Friday is our weekly blog link-up. Each week I provide a one-word prompt, and we all set our timers and write for five minutes flat, then post our writing on our respective blogs and link up our offerings on that week’s Five Minute Friday post. 1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
that I may find the strength I lack,
    finding now cover in thee
that I, effective, may shoot back
    against the cancer that besets
    my body, mind, immortal soul.
This is bad, yeah, as bad gets,
so God, pay up, and make me whole
that I can just spit out the blood
that rises from my shattered lungs,
that I can dance upon the flood,
an answer to that which becomes
    the harbinger of sordid death
with what You give, a new-found breath.
