You can’t have it

Both ways —

Be a believer

Yet declare your body

As your own

To do as

You please

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. – 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20

  2. I’ve looked at life from both sides now,
from on my own and on my knees,
from having my hand on the plow
to watching sown fields die and freeze.
I was the captain of my soul,
but ‘Invictus’, it is just a poem,
and the thing that makes me whole
is knowing I am not my own,
but property of the Most High,
    bought at death’s blood-sacrifice,
and in the twinkling of an eye
I’ll one day rise, redeem that price
that was paid with love and care
when I meet Jesus in the air.
