Advent: Hope #Christmas #Inspirational #Faith

Hope

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. JOHN 1:9

The word advent literally means the “arrival of someone notable.”

Jesus was this someone.

As Christmas nears, so does His birth – Jesus’ first arrival.

With Him, hope and peace.

Our true light in this dark world.

And friends, it’s been very dark here these past few years!

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end. Isaiah 9:6,7

It was God’s promise to His people all those centuries ago – and He fulfilled it.

God also gave us another promise – of Jesus’ second coming – and He will also fulfill this!

Hope.

It’s one of our greatest assets as believers.

It’s what allow us to be a light in this world for the lost – to draw them to Jesus and discover salvation and peace in the midst of darkness.
