True Meaning of Christmas #Poetry

Today

Christmas means

Black Friday stampedes

Glitters and festivities

Stress, mess, and distress

Where’s the joy and the wonder

Of what this season’s truly about?

Christmas should be

A time of reflection

Remembrance

Of the ultimate gift

To mankind

In form of a baby

The bringer of true peace

And good will to all

A-men.

Luke 2: 10-14:

“And the angel said unto them (shepherds), Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God.  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
