The world view followers of Jesus Christ as “bigoted” and “antiquated.” We’re “exclusive,” not “inclusive.” We’re “counterculture,” not supportive. The rules (aka moral laws) we adhere to are “restrictive” rather than “permissive.” We’re too different, we’re outsiders, and we are what they don’t want more of.
I rarely use the word “Christian” to describe true believers as the world, including many churches, have watered down this term — in other words, it has lost its saltiness. Yet, in the very essence, that is who we are, follower of Christ, Christians.
We’re ambassadors, soldiers, and watchmen. We are no longer citizens of this world, but of a Kingdom, a new world to come. For the moment, we’re sojourners, strangers and yes this means we won’t fit in. This means we will be persecuted and hated. And if you’ve found yourself in this very predicament, you’re doing it right!
I’m finding that the more I read and study the Word, the more I spend with Him in prayer and worship, the less attached I am to the things of this planet.
Have you noticed that the world is growing louder and louder? That it’s growing more chaotic and busier? Like something is trying to keep the people intentionally distracted.
If you do, then your senses have been awakened — to His Truth, not to the lies of the enemy.
Now is the time to put on the full armor of God, and to stand firm. Be bold. Be courageous.
Our Lord’s return is very near!
Stand.
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. — 1 Corinthians 16:13
**Author’s Note: I am writing this as much for myself as for you as I feel very much like a “Gideon,” or worst, an ostrich who would like nothing more than to stick her head in a hole and hide from everything.
