If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. — C.S. Lewis
Ever had a longing that you found nothing would fulfill?
Whatever goals accomplished, dreams realized, or love attained…nothing could satisfy this yearning within you.
You’re constantly searching, striving…never fully or truly satisfied.
There’s always something lacking.
You feel like you’re missing the mark, some greater calling or purpose.
Ever have this kind of longing? Ever wonder why?
Want to know the truth?
Nothing in this world will ever fulfill this longing or yearning you’re experiencing. No amount of achievements, pleasures or wealth will be enough.
Why?
Because you were created not for this world, but for the one to come.
You were created not to seek out the things of this world, but to seek out God.
God is what our innermost being is searching for — not riches, things, marriage, success, or children!
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. — Psalm 16:11
When you achieve the things of this world, you’re settling for LESS!
Why settle for less when you’re destined for something far greater?
The most satisfying path we could ever take in this life is that of pursuing God’s presence.
He is the only one who can fill that persistent emptiness you feel — no matter how hard you try to ignore this truth — it’s always there.
Everything you pursue in this world — love, happiness, success, personal freedom — are only illusions. Their allures and exhilarating effects last only for a brief time prompting you to continually search for other ways of filling that unexplainable void within.
Ever wonder about your purpose for being here? Do you believe that you were born by chance (or even by accident) and that after death you’ll return to dust, and to what? Nothingness?
“There has to be more to life than this.”
There is more to life than achievements, pleasures, and personal freedom; just like there’s more to life than this failure, more than this vicious cycle of defeat, more than being ruled by taste buds, body image, rationalizations, guilt, and shame.
You’re not here by chance or by accident.
No, you were created by God, and He has a purpose for your life that starts in this world and extends beyond it.
Are you feeling a tug right now? A tug to go somewhere — to do something?
